Meet our families

Our whānau

He pai mā tāu tamaiti…ā, he pai hoki māu. Good for your child…and good for you.

Our Playcentre community is unique and diverse. Our membership includes parents who balance work and study, solo parents, parents who have children with disabilities, families who have recently settled in New Zealand who lack familial roots, as well as whānau who prioritise the healthy development of their tamariki through child-led play.

Despite their diversity and backgrounds, our members are able to build a village with Playcentre and make life-long friends along the way. We believe that more than ever, disconnection from our communities can contribute to mental health challenges. Organisations like Playcentre, which supports families in the early years, help create better outcomes for all New Zealanders.

“When you look at different early childhood education movements, Playcentre is a world leader in terms of providing the ‘perfect environment for growing brains.”
